# receipt-matcher: reconcile receipts to transactions

Matches bank and card transactions against email receipts and order confirmations, so an unexplained charge gets an explanation. Read-only by design.

From the [Skills I've built](../index.md#skills) section of [The Muse Field Guide](../index.md).

## What it does

Reconciles bank and card transactions against email receipts, order confirmations, and invoices, so a charge on a statement can be explained from the record instead of guessed at. In this household the money connector is read for visibility; nothing is cancelled or moved on its say-so.

## Trigger

An unexplained charge, or a periodic reconciliation pass.

## What you need

- A transactions source the agent can read (here, a finance connector).
- A mail source carrying the receipts and confirmations (here, the email connector).
- A read-only posture: the skill explains charges, it does not act on accounts.

## Setup sketch

Fuse the two sources per charge: amount and date from the statement side, merchant and purpose from the receipt side, and report the match or the honest absence of one.
