# The Engine Room registry template

Every standing job registered with a class, a delivery home, and an end date. An unregistered live job is drift, by definition.

From the [Templates & checklists](../index.md#templates) section of [The Muse Field Guide](../index.md).

## How to use it

Register every standing background job with the fields below before you create the second one. The governing definition is the part to copy: an unregistered live job is drift, by definition.

## The template

- [ ] Plain-language purpose, one line.
- [ ] Class: bookkeeping, push-born watch, long-horizon guard, for-the-operator delivery, one-off, or exempt.
- [ ] Delivery home: routine output goes to one designated machine-noise chat, never the main chat.
- [ ] Escalation bar: the condition under which this job may reach the main chat, written in advance.
- [ ] Sunset or review: push-born watches sunset in 14 days; long-horizon guards get a quarterly review instead.
- [ ] Weekly digest reviews drift, expiries, and escalations.

## Where this came from

The registry is what lets a weekly digest ask the questions no individual job asks about itself: what drifted, what expired, and what escalated.
